What size are you attempting to sew the lettering? If you can't increase the
pull comp enough to get the narrow parts wide enough you may need to edit the
thin parts. Highlight the object you want to edit, right click and go to edit
wireframe all, you will see triangles and circles along the borders of the
objects, click and drag those points to where you need them then hit save.
