I know I'm over a week late on this one but for those of you who are still
interested...
If you want to manually move your X/Y carriage, all you have to do is kill
power (either hit the E-Stop button or shut machine down) and with a little
elbow grease (that means muscle) push or pull in the Y direction (front to
back) and a little easier to move in the X direction (left to right).

When power is up on the machine, there is what is called a "holding voltage"
on the motors than sort of "locks" the motors in place until they receive a
command otherwise.

Still major problem but one of my descriptions was incorrect, when going to
the Maintenance window, Head Timing tab, the Head Up, Bottom Center, Top
Center buttons do function properly (I had the E-Stop engaged before).
Everytime reset, center hoop, reload design, the carriage moves all the way
to the right. How can I manually move the carriage back? I need to check
the wire harness for the x-axis.

Thanks,

Terri

Subject: [amayausers] Headcrash ?

Hi All,

Was wondering if there is anything that I can do to get my Pretty Pretty
Princes up and running? (Of course, it's the weekend.) Here's what
happened, last night on number 6 shirt of a design, pressed the start
button, thread break (I forgot to put the bobbin case and bobbin in),
cleaned up all threads, stepping back in design with keypad button, after a
few presses of the back button the carriage moves all the way to the right
and all the way forward. Ok, so now I press the forward button one click
(expecting it to go to where it came from), instead needle 1 comes down and
hits the arm in the back left corner, needle break. I took the needle out,
tried head up, reset design, reboot pc, etc. D37 light is on all the time
no matter where carriage is manually pushed left or right. Cannot push
carriage forward and back (D41 light is on all the time). In the
Maintenance window, Head Timing tab, click Head Up, Bottom Center, Top
Center it gives error message "unable to complete the command". In the
Current Z Position box - nothing is displayed. Click Release Z button,
manually try to move needle bar, numbers are now displayed in the Current Z
Position box (.5 OR 358.4), cannot really get the needle bar to move. My
gut feel is that the head is ok structurally, that it's more likely
something with software or electronics.

Any thoughts?
