Depending on which version and level of DS you have, the steps will vary.
The subject you might want to play with is referred to as "Effects".
You can lay one layer of thread down, fill or satin and then lay a second layer
down with a
"random edge" which will give you something of a blend between the two colors.
You will really want to play in this area to get the look you are trying to
achieve.
