Dear Darlene, One of the things you need to be aware of is that when you purchase equipment from someone else, you will be required by the maker of the equipment to purchase a transfer or relicense fee. Every software and machine company requires this so you can get continued support. Be sure that you discuss this as part of the purchase price. If not the company will not provide you with support if machines break, have issues or are still under warrenty. Call the machine company directly and find out and then discuss with the business owner. I would also ask about types of clients, types of garments. Consider what training you might need to add to what you already know. I would also find the age of the equipment and check with the company, ebay and resale equipment companies to get an idea of what is a fair price. Can someone give me some ideas of what and how to make sure the asking price is reasonable??? What do you need to find out other than the normal questions??? Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!
