1.       Validation and verification

2.       Networks - Network topologies - hardware needed

3.       Data security - passwords and encryption
Backup Strategy

4.       Relational vs. flat file database
SQL vs. QBE (querying by example)
Normalisation
Key fields

5.       GUI's - HCI - learn examples

6.       Effective presentation of information. - 5*8 rule. No more than
eight words on a line and no more than 5 bullet points per slide, use
pictures appropriately, ensure data is up to date precise of the right
type and get to the right person at the right time.

7.       Software - operating systems, application of software, report
generators, bespoke software, portability, upgrading software.

8.       Processing - online/interactive and batch.

9.       Data storage - file sizes - suitable back up devices (#3). File
sizes?! (WAVs (roughly 10x bigger than MP3's), MP3s, WMAs).

10.   Peripherals  - 
Drivers
Plug and play
USB
Parallel/serial
Parity bits.
