Hi, Lori,
Sounds like maybe Adobe 7.0 is not able to open the file.
Try updating your Adobe to 8.1.2.
Then open the file again in Openbook and see if that works.

Hello, Everyone,

I have been trying to download the Kaiser Guidebook from the Kaiser website. This document is in .pdf format. When I download the guidebook I get the message that either the document is in images and needs an ocr program or the document is malformed.

I contacted Kaiser member services and indicated the problem. I did indicate that I use speech with my computer and can read other .pdf documents. I received a very unsatisfactory reply that JAWS works with their website and that the person answering my email downloaded the guidebook successfully.

I also attempted to open the file with openbook with .pdf as my file type and received the message that I did not have the appropriate program to open this file.

Is there some way I can read this file with adobe 7.0? Are there any Kaiser members on this list that have opened the guidebook successfully?

Thanks.

Lori Castner
