This is the one I sent in, not sure if I can find the one they wrote at the
Press Register site.
Dear Readers,
I am forced to respond to the letter from Grace Eddins on Micheal Vick's
horrific acts of Animal Cruelty. She is right in every respect except for
one. PLEASE, do not send any money to the UN Humane Society of the United
States. If you wish to put GOOD Deeds in your love for animals, donate to any
of the many local animal groups who rescue dogs and cats and actually HELP
them. The Mobile SPCA, ARF, Friends of the Mobile Animal Shelter, etc, etc.
The HSUS has NO shelters, and uses their donations to HURT any animal
related groups, such as Cattle producers, chicken growers, egg producers, swine
producers, and of course anyone who breeds pets or show animals, no matter how
careful and responsibly they do it. The HSUS begged for donations after
Katrina stranded thousands of Gulf Coast animals and collected over
$34,000,000. Of this, they only spent $7,000,000 on helping the animals. The
rest they put into their legislative efforts and fat salaries. They are
supposed to be a non-profit and not lobby the government, but study any state
list of bills and they are aiming at all of us who enjoy eating meat or
drinking milk or raise healthy beautiful pets.
Asking YOU to check them out and do NOT donate to HSUS. Help the local
groups who do good.....
