Pentagon Spent $19 Billion On Bomb-Detectors, Finally Admits, "Dogs Are Best!"

Not the nicest of things to hear. After spending $19 billion on bomb-finding
technology & gadgets including – drones, metal detectors, chemical sniffers,
and many others, Pentagon finally admits that it’s no longer tech, but the dog.
"Dogs are the best [bomb] detectors."

According to a simple military study, American defense/military forces could
only locate about 50% of the bombs planted using bomb-detectors, while when
accompanied by dogs they beat 80% of the bombs planted.

DARPA ‘Dog’s Nose’ Program failed? Seems that way. Launched in 1997, the
project to build a bomb-sniffer is at least as good as a dog, is still just on
paper.

Detection is a significant challenge," Lieutenant General Michael Oates, the
commander of the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization, finally
had to admit.
