NEWSWIRE: MONDAY JUNE 15, 2015
TEK TALK WELCOMES MIKE MAY OF SENDERO AND A UBER REPRESENTATIVE TO DISCUSS
THIS INNOVATIVE ORGANIZATION
One of the hottest topics in the news these days as well as a life-changing
app on our smartphones, is Uber. This is the leading ride share service
which is changing the way people get around in more than 300 cities in 58
countries. Mike May says, "I believe this is one of the best improvements in
independent travel for people who are blind in many years."
Once a person signs up with a credit card and registration details, they can
quickly use Uber to get a ride within minutes in a safe, professional and
convenient manner. Payment is automatically handled by the credit card after
one arrives at the destination. User can rate their driver, make comments or
report issues easily through the app and there will be a prompt response
from Uber support.
Mike May, a pioneer in independent travel, is an avid Uber user. He will be
joined by a Uber representative for this presentation and Q&A. Learn how the
service works, hear from other users what they like and what they would like
to see improved. Clarify hearsay you may have gotten about what the media
calls a disruptive technology.
