SETTING EXCEL TO SHOW LINES AND WRAP TEXT

*I. Showing Lines For Ease Of Reading

1. When the document is opened, Press alt plus the letter p for page
layout.

2. Tab 18 times to reach the checkbox that says, "print." This prints the
lines between columns and rows to make the sheet easier to read. I tried
finding a hotkey to jump to that checkbox but could not. So if someone has
one, please share.

The checkbox to check is right after "sheet options.

3. Press the space bar to check this box. It is unchecked by default.

4. Once you press the space bar, you are placed back in to the worksheet.

*Setting Excel To Wrap Text

This is useful if you have used Excel to develop a gradebook. If one column
is listing an daily assignment, sometimes this will overlap into the next
cell. One could use the "autio fit" option mentioned yesterday. But one
could also highlight the cell or cells or cells one wishes word rap to
occur in. The carry out the steps below. This exactly what I had to do for
my classes. We were made to use a program called "Skyword" which proved not
to be that accessible using any of the screenreaders available to me. So I
was given the opportunity to creat a gradebook with all information provided
on the school's Skyword daily pages. The word rap feature was extremely
useful

I then had to print this document for each student every quarter. This
usually took around 30 to 40 pages.

This may sound crazy to some. But one must do what is necessary to keep
imployment and meet your supervisors expecations. Many times it is up to
the a disabled employee or student to find their own work arounds as many on
this membership already knows.

1. Select the cells to set to wrap.

2. Press the application key or right mouse.

3. Press the letter f for "format cells" and press enter. One could arrow
down to the same option and press enter.

4. Press control plus tab until you are in the "alignment property
sheet."

5. Press alt plus the letter w to check the box for "rapping.

6. Tab to okay and press enter.
