ACCESSIBLEWORLD TEK TALK PRESENTS ANNA MCCLURE, A REPORT FROM ENVISION AMERICA, MONDAY OCTOBER 7, 2013, 8 PM EDT, THE PAT PRICE ROOM: WWW.ACCESSIBLEWORLD.ORG NEWSWIRE: En-Vision America has developed several new products in their ScripAbility technology suite. ScripTalk, ScripView and BRL provide pharmacies with multiple options for providing prescription label access to their patients. Now, users can access important data via audible output, large print, and Braille. Individuals with vision impairments are at risk for taking the wrong medication, taking the wrong dosage, taking medications at the wrong time or with wrong instructions. They can put their own health and safety at risk, as well as any family members they may be caretakers for. Access to medicine label information, including drug data, expiration dates and refill information is critical for every individual. The Americans with Disabilities Act was updated in 2010, with new and detailed language. It specifically addresses what pharmacies are required to do in order to provide access to services and offer auxiliary aids to blind and visually impaired customers. Designed to be a supplement in helping pharmacies meet requirements of ADA for their blind customers, the Food and Drug Administration Safety and Innovation Act was signed into law in 2012. It set into motion the formation of best practices, giving pharmacies a guideline on how to offer required accommodations to their visually impaired patients in various formats. Pharmacies across the country are now offering accessible label services to their customers. The best news is that it is a free service for users. There is no charge for a person to benefit from accessible prescription labels. Also, i.d. mate Quest is now available on our no-interest payment plan. Like New Summits, and Summit to Quest trade-ins can also be purchased on a payment plan. You can have the unit in your hands now, and pay it off (interest free) over a year. For more information, to find a participating pharmacy, and to order an i.d. mate Quest, contact En-Vision America at 1-800-890-1180.
