Hi Clive,

It sounds to me like your laptop isn't pushing enough power from the USB
port. This is quite common.

Do you have a USB mains powered hub you can plug the floppy into, for a
test?

All the best

Steve

Subject: [access-uk] windows 7 64-bit and USB floppy drive problems

Hello everyone,

My HP laptop is running windows 7 64-bit and I am having problems with my
USB floppy drive. when I connect it and insert a disk I am prompted to
format it.
when I try this, after a few seconds an error message pops up with the OK
button highlighted, and when I press this the Close button appears. I have
checked the properties of the drive and it is working normally. searching
on Google for a solution did not help. Any suggestions most appreciated.
thanks in advance.

Best wishes,

Clive pallett
