No, indeed I am not. What I am saying is that you can control your box with
your accessible remote. Using the iPad app, you can even find out the position
of your programme, before you start playing it.
Genuine offer, if anyone wants training on independently doing most things
but not all, with the Sky Q box, then please give me a shout. Cost is £30.00
per hour, and I would suggest having a couple of recordings on the box for us
to play with.
Also, if you don’t have an accessible remote, ring Sky, they will give you
one for free.
Finally, for those who don’t know, I am totally blind, so don’t rely on sight
for anything. I just had a very patient Sky engineer go through it with me.
All the best
Steve

So are you saying that you can control your sky Q box with your iPad then?
If that’s so then I shall give it a go.
thanks for that.

Hi,
You can control the box, if you memorise and count and use the app. I did
write a detailed message on here on how to do it.
For example, go into the app, Recordings, Recent Recordings, then count
down. If your program is number three, then press TV guide on your box and go
right four. Once to get you in to recent recordings, and the other three to
get you to the third programme. The programmes are in a grid on your box,
three by three. They don’t wrap either, so go across three, then come down one
and you’re on Programme six. Etc.
It’s not ideal, but I can do it as a totally blind person.

Hi,
Do you mean the new skybox Q. I have upgraded mine it is accessible sort
of, you can watch things on your iPad if you record them. But I am afraid you
can’t control the TV with your iPad. I am told that they are aware of this. I
do believe though the old sky HD is accessible.
This was my argument last week. Sky won’t give us the old sky box. So we
have to have this new Sky Q box which is quite accessible. So I have to be
content recording things to my iPad. But at least I can watch them where ever
I am. Till they sort it out.
I hope this helps you a little.
