Alex, It shouldn't interfere with the running of your computer or other software. I've had it installed for sometime. It's very like Flash in that you can have the plugin installed, but unless you come across some Silverlight content, you won't know it's there. In my experience, Silverlight is not at all accessible. I've not explored it much, but certainly the results I've seen so far have been perfectly dreadful in accessibility terms. It may be possible to make Silverlight accessible, but at present I don't believe there are many accessibility features built into the platform. Not something I've looked into a great deal though. Is it worth installing for someone like me with no sight at all? It uses a different approach, but it's effectively a platform for presenting animation, vector graphics and multimedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silverlight Regards, Léonie. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of alex.thynne@xxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: 11 January 2008 18:46 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx; bcab@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] silverlight Hi all when I started IE7 just now, I got taken to the microsoft site instead of my home page and was asked if I wanted to install something called silverlight.
