It may be that you have language detection on in Word quick settings. That
is assuming you are reading the instructions in word although the same
principle may apply in Acrobat reader when reading a PDF.
To correct -
1. With the document/pdf open, open quick settings with JAWS + V.
2. The cursor will be in a search edit field.
3. Type l and cursor down till you come to "language detection". Make sure
that is set to off.
4. Tap enter to exit quick settings.

Hi
a friend has downloaded instructions for a washing machine which I have just
took delivery of. Although my friend sees the instructions in English on
the screen, and I can read them in English on my Iphone, JAWS is reading
them in a completely foreign language, not sure even if it is a proper
language. Could anyone give an explanation for this
