Hi.

No, this is nothing new; It all depends on how much power the device needs and how much power is available through your USB ports. I used to own a Seagate portable drive with this configuration of two USB connections, however you only need one if the power provided to the drive is sufficient enough to operate it.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Ibrahim,

I just ordered the CNM drive, but there is one thing you
should be aware of.
It requires two USB ports not one. I believe this is so it
can suck the extra power it needs.

So if you have only two USB ports on your PC, it may not be
an ideal solution if for example, you want to use a key at
the same time. My netbook has three ports, so this doesn't
bother me, but it is unusual for a USB device to require two
ports. Check out the specs though and you will see it does
say that on Play.

All the best

Steve

Hi Adrian.

Firstly, the CNM drive will write cd and cdrw disks at 24X.
I guess they're

plugging this as a dvd rewriter, but all dvd rewriter drives
will also write

cds as well so you've nothing to fear there. I used to
recommend Lite on products, however since they are more
expensive now than they used to be for

some reason I've stopped recommending them. I've always
believed that when I make recommendations to people, I look
not only at features and specification but also price point
considering the competition.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi

Yes I am actually looking at that one but it doesn't say
whether it's just dvd or cd. Unless you know what all the
terminology means, you are not sure what you are looking
at.

Have you heard of the lite on make, play.com sell quite a
few of them.
