hi,

more than a year ago i bought a set of speakers from sight and sound but within
a month one stopped working, after some hassle they did replace them and these
worked until a couple of months ago when again one stopped working. i phoned
them but they said it was not included in the warranty with the computer and to
buy some from amazon. after looking through a lot of speakers on amazon (you
can’t tell much from the description) i bought a Logitech set but when i got
them it turned out they didn’t have a headphone socket. it didn’t occur to me
that some speakers wouldn’t have the headphone socket, i thought they would all
have them and you could use it or not. so i returned those and last week bought
a genius speaker set from amazon, but again i have a problem, this time i made
sure they had a headphone socket and a volume adjustability switch but when i
connected them i found out there is a audible static hissing when listening on
headphones (such as on analogue radio when the dial is between stations). i
don’t want another sound going on at me as well as jaws so it looks like i have
to return these as well. so after all this does any one have a recommendation
of good speakers with a headphone socket, volume adjustability switch and no
hissing?

thanks, Husna
