Sounds like a Macintosh format to me, but someone can correct me on this.

  Subject: [access-uk] playing .ape files?

  hello list,
a few days ago, I came across a new audio file format, .ape and no matter
what I try, nothing will play them.
I can convert them in to more standard formats, thanks to easy cd da
extractor, but I tried winamp, realplayer, quicktime, i-tunes, and windows
media player, and none of them would actually play the files.
does anyone out there know what I can use to actually play these .ape files
please?
