Hi Graham,

doesn't seem to apply to separate modem users. I've had the same modem since June 2002, when i first went on the 128K speed with ntl.

Hi Andrew

Just spoken to them

I am going to need a new set top box as my current modem within the box is
not capable of the 2 Mb speed. They are coming to change it in a week or
so. I was told that the new speeds were not going to be introduced until 04
April.

May be you all ought to be aware of the fact that the old digital set top
boxes will need changing. Do not know whether this applies to separate
modem users.

Graham

Hello Graham, No I didn't have to change the modem the modems will take up
to 3 meg max. if you are using 750 KB now then you can upgrade to the 2 meg
which is still costing you £24.99 per month. I cannot help with much more
of this but have a look on the NTL home page .

Hi Andrew

Interesting, I currently am running on 750 through a tV set top box is
there a way of checking on the system your broadband speed.

I learnt several months a go that if I wanted to go above 1Mb I would
need to change my set top box.

Did anything like this come up.

there is no delay in changing over from one speed to the other it
takes roughly 15 to 30 seconds to do this, I was talking to them and
by the time I had finished with them I was told to close every thing
down leave it for about two minutes and restart it all and it was
there all done.

Just a quick update. I looked on the ntl website, in the "sign up to
broadband" section. Yes, there really is a speed increase! it's all
listed there as you said Andrew.

So, i phone up NTL to find out more, when it the speed increase gonna
happen? How long will it be before my speed in increased.

Well, jammy as I am, I got my speed increased there and then! So, if
not right now, i should be on 1mb within the next day!

Thanks for the info Andrew <smile>.

I didn't know that andrew. are u sure this is happening? I think
I'm still on the 300K. I'm sure i am unless it's changed just today.

I'll try and look at what NTL are saying on the web.

Hello All, Does everyone know know that NTL has done away with the
300KB & 750KB, they only do 1 MEG 2 MEG & 3 MEG all at the same
prices of the original prices for the 300 KB and the 750 KB.
