You can use an accountant if you want to, but technically you don't need to
as it seems to do a pretty good job of keeping track of your finances. For
the first year, you might want to just get an accountant in at the end of
the year or whilst you're using freeagent to make sure its actually doing
its job. There are companies online who use freeagent as their accounting
package and who employ accountants to take care of your books remotely. that
may be another option for you.

I'm not sure how sage compares to freeagent, but freeagent is my
accounting package of choice when it comes to online accounts. they
can link to your bank account, and they also take screen reader
accessibility seriously to the point where they'll actually listen to
feedback. It doesn't cost much more than sage either. They also link
directly to HMRC and they can fill out a lot of the tax return for you.
It all depends what you want the package to do. If you'd like a chat
