Many thanks, Alasdair.  Just what I wanted - or so I thought!
I downloaded the file, ran the exe and got a message "Adobe Flash player plug 
in set up 
completed."  so I closed the dialogue and re-launched IE7.. 
But when I look in manage Add ons" in the Tools menu it does not appear to be 
there - 
unless I am looking in the wrong place!
That was on a Vista system.  I will try it again tomorrow on the XP one.
perhaps I have to accept that my machines are a "Flash player free zone".
