Hi Colin, I've pasted what information it gives below. It doesn't seem to have much by way of significant improvements, but every little helps, I suppose.

This update software is for updating the firmware on the DM-3 and DM-5. 
     It can update the firmware to the latest version, " Ver. 1.40 ".



     - Digital Voice Recorder DM-3 and DM-5




     - Ver : 1.00 / 1.01 / 1.10 / 1.20 / 1.30
*The firmware version is displayed in "Version" under "Preferences" ? "System Menu" ? "System Info.".

Ver. 1.30 1.. Up to 99 bookmarks could be set on a DAISY content. 2.. Improved system stability when a number of files stored in the device.
