Hi Richard.

OK, here is the link:
http://www.accessible-devices.com/ImageForWindows.html
You can use Image For Windows in that way, but the tutorials on the above page
teach you how to use a recovery disk since this is the only way of using the
program if you have no sighted assistance available during the restore process.

All the best, Ibrahim.

  Hi Ibrahim,

I'd be interested in that link too please.

Am I right in thinking that you could take a complete image of your hard
drive and recover that from an external USB drive in case of problems?
Presumably you'd just need sighted assistance to tell the PC to look for the
external drive?

  Hi David.

There's Image for Windows from Terabyte Unlimited, this is accessible
software for creating recovery disks which you can use to restore a complete
image of your C partition or indeed any partition for that matter even on a
completely blank and unformatted hard drive. I have somewhere a link to an
audio tutorial of someone using this with jaws, but if you want to give it a go
while I rustle it up, you can get the program from www.terabyteunlimited.com.
Alas it isn't free but reasonably priced so give it a go, you've nothing to
lose.

  All the best, Ibrahim.

    Hi list,

I would like to create an image backup of my c partition. My pc is an Acer
running win 7 64 bit. It comes complete with it's own backup manager which has
the ability to create a disk image. Unfortunately, it's not very accessible.
Can anyone recommend a suitable application which would allow me to create an
image backup and then restore from it.

    Thanks

    David
