Hi Marie,

Sounds like you may not have the FULL version of Adobe
Reader 7. My one certainly has a Save as Text option.

What's the model number of the unit you have, and I'll see
if my version still offers that option with the file.

George.

Subject: [access-uk] converting pdf files to text

New to this game, downloaded the owner's manual from Yamaha
for my new amplifier-home cinema system.
The save to to text was unavailable in my version of acrobat
reader, v.5, downloaded v.7 full thinking it would have all
features for accessibility, save to text still not available.
Tried to be crafty and opened or tried to open a page from
the pdf file with Fine Reader, can't be done, I'm asked to
provide a password.
I cannot scan the printed manual I got with the set because
the pages are so thin that the scanner gets confused by what
it can see on the other side of the page.
What's my next move? would love to be able to emboss the
manual.
Would Yamaha give me the password required?
Do I have to ask them or the people who produced the file?
Any help gratefully received,

Cheers now,

Marie
