Hi Billy.
I have a different Acer laptop. On mine it's F12 to access the boot menu. However the boot menu is disabled by default. So you may have to go into the BIOS to enable that. Then try pressing F12 to access the boot menu. For reference mine is an Aspire 5735.
Take care.

Hi guys, I'm having some problems with my Acer5920 vista laptop system.
After issues with my vista operating system, I'm trying to clean install the
whole operating system again.

I now find my dvd rom drive is not working at all, so I have purchased an
external dvd rom drive.
The new drive is showing at the top of the boot sequence list in bios, but
when I try to clean install from the cd, my system is not reckonizing the
external drive.

I seem to remember there was a certain f key which brought up a list of boot
up options, and booting from the dvd/cd rom drive was one of the choices.
Can't remember for the life of me the key strokes required to achieve this,
hope someone using an Acer laptop computer could help in this matter,

Billy
