maybe they're rolling it out gradually.

I've used jaws 9 and jaws 10 on the Amazon site using IE7 browser. I
don't have jaws 11. FYI.

This is so interesting because I'm still seeing the combo boxes with the
different departments listed waiting for one to be selected. How come
I'm seeing that and you're not?

HI Andrew.

There is no drop down box with the departments listed in it any more -
not in a screenreader friendly form anyway.

Also, the department links on the website itself have been altered and -
in that way jaws has taken to doing of late - it doesn't indicate that
it's a link or that it's clickable and so I am guessing it's some kind
of java generated link. So definitely less accessible on that front too.

So I'm storing up my findings and intend to email amazon ... unless
someone can tell me there's a way round it or that I'm using my
screenreader like a bozo.

Thanks

I've not noticed any difference in the Amazon site. I've just
loged onto it and the search area on the home page doesn't look any
different to me.

Yes, have not really worked it out as yet. I have to search
under all departments, but it seems to work well enough. sometimes I
get the webpage cannot be displayed message.

If anyone finds a work around please let us know.

Is anyone else having a few difficulties with the new
re-imagined Amazon home page and search?

How do you choose which department you search now? It seems
screenreader unfriendly.
