Hi Terry, Somehow or another, you will have to get access to your laptop's BIOS, and ensure that the CD is first in the boot sequence. That way, with the XP CD in the drive, it will look at the CD first when you boot up. You will then have an option to re-format the drive before proceeding with the Windows install. It's not usually a tricky job for someone sighted, but hopeless without speech. George. ________________________________ From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of terrcooper Sent: Tuesday, February 19, 2008 7:47 PM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: bootable cd for xp home sp2 Hi Yes, but it won't install after the pc crashed. Keeps coming up with error messages, saying that different files are corrupt. I have used the cd to install windows previously, but it won't have it this time. I wanted to be able to boot the laptop up using something else, so I could format the hard drive, and try again. I haven't got a floppy, so that is why I wanted to see if |I could do it with a bootable cd. I'm probably going have to buy a floppy, and wipe it that way.
