Hi Adrian,

Personally I would try to get him to download Belarc Advisor from
http://www.belarc.com

Try it yourself, so once you are on that page, go to the "Free
Download" link and download and install it.

You will end up with a report which you can save, which tells you just
about everything you need to know about your system, processor,
memory, disc drive configurations, including all the software
installed, updates, missing updates, CD keys, memory and all sorts.

Once you have done it yourself, it should be easy enough (I hope) to
talk him through the process to do that himself, and send you the
resultant detail file.

George.

Hi

I am helping a friend with his computer, I need to know what
version of windows he is using and which service packs he
has installed, what is the easiest way for me to get this
info, he is not computer literate. I am helping him over the
phone.

Regards

Adrien
