Windows 7 pre sale has certainly generated quite a lot of interest, not only
has Amazon sold out of the Home Premium but the Microsoft online presence has
been taken down due to high demand.

Anyone contemlating the update may want to visit this page for the upgrade
advisor software to check their setup will take it.

Well, I've taken a look and found out as much, really, as you've been able to
tell me. I think I'm going to have to wait until I get a new computer because
I didn't see any way of checking compatibility for a machine currently running
XP and it may not be worth it for one which is now over five years.
