Eleanor, I think the Samsung software makes a complete backup of what
you have on your system at the time you do it. I could be wrong about
this, but that's the impression I got when we did it in the office. I
was really mainly concerned about ensuring the drivers for sound and
graphics were backed up as there are two CDs that come with the machine
anyway. If you haven't had the message appearing that nags you to do
it, then someone maybe did. Look on drive D, and see if there is a
folder called Samsung. If so, then it's done. If not, and you want to
do it, you may require sighted assistance.

Hi Jackie
I do not understand about back-up. How do I do this? Are you talking
about back-up in terms of when you first got the NC10 or a backup when
you had loaded all your software? Maybe the person who set it up for me
did the backup as the whole process took about 20 minutes.

Hi Debbie

It's Samsung's backup utility. Some people remove all this stuff at
the
beginning, but I let it do a backup of everything because I hope it
will
be a kind of restore for all the Netbook's drivers if I ever need to
do
one in the event of something catastrophic happening.

You may need sighted assistance though because, if you arrow down to
check the backup to start, it means your Netbook will start in Safe
mode, and wants you to accept the licence before proceeding. This
means, of course, you have no speech. I took mine into the office and
got someone to keep an eye on it for me. Once the machine did the
backup and restarted, the message disappeared, and the backup I had
made
now resides on the partitioned D drive.

As I say, you can take it all off, but I didn't because I'm a cautious
creature in that way and didn't want to risk losing any drivers. The
more bold among us will say otherwise (smile).
