David,
I’m afraid I believe the only way you will get any action is if the likes of
the RNIB actually take hold of this situation in the interests of its members.

George,
Thanks for your assistance. I will keep pestering Virgin in the hope that
they may eventually take notice.

Just following up.
It appears that Virgin have substantially re-configured the TIVO box here in
the UK.
All I can suggest is that this is taken up with Virgin Media by an organisation
with clout!
It appears the Tivo, as supplied by the manufacturer, can do what is required,
but Virgin simply do not appreciate that the British blind do actually watch
television!
Perhaps it is time to jump on to the petition bandwagon which appears to be
getting to many positive results these days?

Well It seems Virgin have a customised Tivo Remote, so I won’t be holding my
breath. What a bunch of idiots!!!
FWIW, the actual TIVO site shows the A button as the left hand of the four
round buttons immediately above the oval shaped number keys.
Looks like I will have to do some digging.

No idea, but that post that’s in this thread gives you a web site.
Take a look at this:-
https://www.tivo.com/accessibility
You never know, it may even have pictures. <Smile>.

Hi,
Wow, you’ve only got to flick into a menu, or even quicker, hold down the A
button on your remote. If it talks, we’re winning. If it doesn’t, then VM are
as much crap as I think they are.

Hi Steve,
I’ll do what I can, but my house unfortunately is not fitted with safety glass,
and my 12 year old granddaughter lives at the far side of the county.
I do at least have up to 200 Mbps fibre broadband, but with 5-6 minutes of
adverts every quarter of an hour, I’ve pretty well lost the incentive to watch
all this TV garbage of repeated channels.

Hi George,
So have they crippled the box then? The new box from Tivo actually has a
screen reader. Could you go into accessibility settings on your box and see if
screen reader is there?
Curious minds.
Thanks.
