Hi Tim,

Please see www.draytek.co.uk <http://www.draytek.co.uk/> for details.
Essencially you will need to download the router tools (includes
firmware update tool), and will need to download the firmware image -
you should use the .all file and send it to the router.

Andrew.

Hi Andrew,

Well I re-set the unit, and that did the trick. I was able to enter my
connection details and get online. Wonder would you know how I'd go
about updating the firmware?

Thanks for all the help, it's much appreciated.

Cheers,

Tim.

        Hi,

That isn't brand new. As I say you need to reset it this way
and if it is that old you should really check and update the firmware in
it.

        Andrew.

OK Andrew, will try that. I baught the router via Ebay about a
year ago. The item was advertised as brand new, but you never know.

        Thanks,

        Tim.

          Hi,

I think someone may have used this before. On the router
there is a reset button which will need pushing by a paper clip. Please
reset the router and report back on the IP address returned through
ipconfig. If the IP address has changed from the default then I think
the password may have been changed also. I am trying to get a
definitive answer as to the specs on this model as I haven't used one,
but that IP address doesn't look standard to me.

          Andrew.

          Andrew,

With the 2500 connected, ipconfig returns the following.

          ip address: 10.210.210
          subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
          default gateway: 10.210.210.253

When I run the quickstart wizard for the 2500 the ip address
returned is also 10.210.210.253

          Thanks,

          Tim.

            Hi,

Can you do an ipconfig at the command prompt and get back to
me with your current IP address and the default gateway? The 2500 is a
cut down version of the 2600, and i am not sure whether it uses
different software.

            Andrew.

            Andrew,

The ip address displayed when I run the set-up wizard is
different from this one. Again, I don't see any way to change this.

            Thanks,

              Hi,

By default the router is on the following:

              Ip: 192.168.1.1
              user: admin
              Password: [blank]

              Hi!

              I've been trying to set-up a Draytek Vigor2500
modem/router. When I run the "quick start wizard" on the supplied disc,
a screen appears with an ip address and a prompt to enter a password.
Having read through the user guide, and had someone look at the written
info, there's no obvious indication of what this password should be.

Any help would be apreciated as I must be missing
something here!

              Thanks,

              Tim.
