Hi Mark, yes it can. Prior to my using Image For Windows I did it all the time. The one proviso is that in order for the installation to complete completely I had to edit out the tour and out of box experience. Before I did that the installation stopped at those points. You could use narrator to get past those screens though, so the short answer is yes you can. If you need help with your winnt.sif let me know. If you haven't done an unattended install before the winnt.sif file is the text file which contains all the information windows asks for during installation. Once you've done your winnt.sif you copy the contents of your windows cd into a folder. put your winnt.sif into the i386 folder. You then burn the files to cd. It has to be burned as a cd boot, and there are settings you need to set in order for it to burn correctly. Mail me offlist at johncoley@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and I'll send you the instructions and also the boot file you will need. I have only ever used Nero to do it, but I think the instructions cover a couple of alternatives.

                   John.

Subject: [access-uk] Unattended XP Pro installation

Hi all.

I am going to take off Vista and replace it with XP Pro on a machine here.
The vista drive will be imaged first so I can replace it at any time, but
the enquiry is to the unattended installation of XP Pro.

Can an unattended installation be prepared and left to install itself
completely without any speech output, please? Any pointers and resources on
how to achieve this by a totally blind user would be welcome.

I could have sighted help to install it in a couple of weeks, but it would
be preferable and more rewarding to do it myself if it is achievable.

Cheers,
Mark Threadgold
