Hi Mark.

In short, no, if you use a USB 2 device with your USB 3 hub, you will not
limit the capabilities of your hub when used with other USB 3 devices.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Subject: [access-uk] USB hub speeds

Hi all.

If a USB 3.0 hub has a USB 2 device plugged into it, will this limit the
data transfer speed of the entire hub to USB 2 speed, or will it still allow
the USB 3.0 devices to work at their correct speed and only slow the data
for the USB 2 device?

If it limits the speed of the entire hub I would be better off putting in a
USB 2 hub for those rated devices to keep the USB 3.0 devices all working
properly.

Cheers,

Mark Threadgold
