Hi James and listers.

In this article, it mentions site advisor. This is a free plug-in you can download to protect you from scams, shareware and fishing and is highly recommended. The basic version which is free will scan links in search results and display a visual tag either red, yellow or green depending on the automated safety test results. Don't worry, these tags have alt text to identify their colour for the purpose of screen readers. Clicking on a tag will take you to the site advisor website where you can read a detailed site report, reviews from other users as well as details of downloads hosted by the web server and their virus, spyware and malware status. Finally, for a small consideration, you can enjoy the same protection in your email and instant messaging conversations. If interested, go to www.siteadvisor.com. By the by, if you already use Mcafee products, site advisor is included at no charge and with the total protection suite, the plus version is included.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Scareware, what a great name! LOL But sereously, this is a big threat, but shouldn't happen if you protect yourself in the first place.
