Hi Carol -
Know what you mean about "thin" sound with modern slim TVs, even many of the
larger screens [in my opinion] have quite poor sound, again, because they
are thin units, and and it is my opinion that sound gets neglected in
general in televisions, it's all about picture!
I've no experience of Panasonic TVs, but have always found them to be good
with audio. Could be worth checking out, if you haven't already done so. I'd
be interested myself, if anybody using a larger TV, say a 33 inch or so, has
found one with really good sound, that doesn't need hooking up to an
external system for additional umph! -

Hi all,
We' need tolook for a new TV and so far it's not going too well.
We can only house up to a 22 inch in the space we have available but are
particular about the sound quality and volume, not wanting to have to plug
in separate speakers or the hifi every time the TV is switched on. Many
of the smaller models seem to have a very thin sound and the volume isn't
great!
We've noticed that many TV's seem to have a bar at the front with buttons
that easily get knocked and you can't feel them, so we'd like to avoid
these if possible; unless someone knows they can usually be switched off
in the menus.
We've already dismissed a 22-inch LG and a Samsung, amongst others so now,
if you've purchased a TV quite recently and can recommend anything else
then please let me know.
