There wa a guy flogging his home-made version of a sound beacon at sight village. Advantage over the rnib models was that it was a 2 unit device, the beacon activated by a button on the 2nd wireless unit. E.g press the button to stop/start the alarm. The wireless comms means it works through doors walls etc. Down side was the price. I thought £60 was a lot! If you think it's worthwhile have a look at the SV website or ask around to see if anyone still has a copy of the catalogue and can work out which vender it was from.
