Hi Jackie -

Maybe I've still to tweak a thing or two on the laptop; JFW isn't quite
running right yet, and certain keystrokes don't always seem to get a
response!

But, I feel with all the help and my own patience, I'm getting there <smile>

You see, you're saying pretty much what I was always told, that hitting the
powered button and forceing a hard shut down, was not good for the machine.
Some people with much more knowledge than me, have been saying using the
power button doesn't cause any problems! Maybe George or somebody can
clarify this? -

Andy

| Hi Andy
|
| Along the strip above my function keys are the following touch-sensitive
| buttons, going left to right:
|
| Quickplay, DVD, Skip Back, Play/Pause, Skip Forward, Stop, Mute, Volume.
It
| is possible to gauge where a couple of these buttons are in relation to
your
| function keys which you can feel below. So, for example, the Mute button
is
| roughly above your Delete key, and the Volume button is to the right of
| that.
|
| In relation to Quickplay, I would personally wait for a few seconds if you
| launch it by mistake. This lets it settle. Then you can alt f4 or, if
you
| think it has caused you to lose focus, minimise by doing Windows key and
M,
| then alt tab into Quickplay and alt f4 so you know you have closed the
pest.
|
| I would, wherever possible, try to avoid hitting the power button for a
few
| seconds to force off the machine. I know we all have to do this when
| everything else fails, but I wouldn't automatically do it willy-nilly.
|
| Enjoy!
|
| Jackie
