Hi All and thanks for the help.Seem to have found the solution for sending email without sending via the ISP provided webmail page or any other similar site.
The service is provided by http://www.authsmtp.com/ You keep your ISP pop3 settings, user id and password.However, you change the smtp settings on your laptop or PDA to those provided by the company above.
Then, where ever you are world wide, you simply send and receive emails via the email programme on your portable device.
Neat.The basic service costs £14 per year and allows you to send a thousand emails per month; and allows attachments of up to 50MB.
