Hi Trace

Open AVG and one of the menu options is Service. Hit that and on the drop down menu is Look for Updates and then tab to Internet for how you want to update. Then wait until it tells you it's done it and installed them.

But it's easier to have it as a scheduled tasks to run every day. Virus types change so fast you can't afford not to be on top of them.

Hi Donna,

Yes, yes, and yes again. Most definitely you should. You could have Macro
viruses in Word documents, Script viruses in HTML documents, and so it goes.
Never be complacent about virus scanning.

Can anyone tell me, if you have a drive which only contains documents, music
and videos and no programs, should you still scan it for viruses?
