Hi,Out of the software choices you mention, Finereader is the best and accessible with Jaws too. Kurzweil uses the Finereader engine in its scanning options so Finereader isn't a bad choice you just need your screen reader to use it unlike Kurzweil which just talks. For making MP3s, Text Aloud will do the job nicely if you have a compatible voice on your computer you like. Kurzweil will also do this but seen as you have Finereader going with Kurzweil wouldn't make any sense.

Hi AllIt's happened!! I've got to the stage when I'm crying out for a book that's only in print so I've got to scan it in to be able to read it. It was inevitable but I've put it off as long as I could. Now it's brain picking time. I need to know how in idiot level language.I have an Epson Perfection scanner, Fine Reader, Textbridge and the scanner has some OCR software with it but I'm not too sure what at this stage. When it's done I assume my screen reader will read it to me as it is called up from the file containing it. This means I have to sit at the computer to read it which is not my fave place for reading. I know there is TextAloud but is there any other software out there that will allow me to make a MP3, or similar, disc to play on disc players? I don't have anything like a Book Courier so that avenue is closed to me.Your help would be most appreciated as this is totally new ground to me and talk slowly and carefully so I have a chance of understanding please.Roger Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once. ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq -- No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition.
