Carol,Window Eyes will tell you in the system tray if it's poor very poor, good very good excellent etc. However you can get the strength in mb by going to,
1. Control Panel 2. Network Connections. 3. Apps key on Wireless Network Connection. 4. Return on Status in this list. 5. Read the screen with your jaws/window eyes/other cursor. The lower it says the worse the signal is. Wirless N should say 300mb for the top range signal. I've seen it at 150mb and still downloading at 1.5mb/s off the bbc's websites.
It's useful to look at this whilst you have a largish file ddownloading off the net. This lets you see how the signal is coping with the constant request for data transmission.

So how do I look at signal strength, please??? -- Carol carol.pearson29@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Tristram Llewellyn wrote:I have direct experience of this sort of wireless congestion in the past. Basically what it all amounts to is that you have to experiment with channels until you find one where you get kicked off the least after that there isn't much you can do except set up another wireless station in places within your own peroperty where the signal gets weakest. It might therefore be worth looking at signal strengh and see if it is low. Since installing an additional wireless base station I haven't had the problem.. Regards.
