I did actually put the pound symbol in my message but it changed to the 'L'.
What happened?

Presume you mean a L (pound) sign when you say 'L' in your last message
barry. I too have done this and its very useful. When entering search
strings in Google a bit of thought before hand helps. Google can be very
literal in the way it searches. Worth rememebnring too that short words
like 'the' and 'in' and 'to' are ignored.such as

| If I'm looking for a price, I put a L sign in the search string.

| I see you've had some good advice Carol on Uk price searches. All I would
| add is that I've always found with Google that adding UK to the end of
| search strings does help in bringing up more relivant results. This even
| with using ...co.uk and search UK websites.
