I bought a couple of powered usb hubs from ebuyer a couple of years ago, I
can't remember what make they are, but they're still going strong, and I've
never had any trouble with them. I think they cost me about four quid each.

Well, I've never looked for one on play, but try a search, you might come up
trumps. Play do sell most things computer related, but if your not lucky
then try Amazon or dabs who have a considerably larger selection of items.
Incidentally, the £36 freecom drive would be an external desktop drive, not
a slimline model. I used to own one of those beasts and they certainly
aren't portable, plus you'll use an external power lead to power this box,
USB power simply isn't an option. Freecom only do the one slim external
drive that's USB powered and that is above your budget if memory serves but
I'll go check.
