Sounds quite good in fact, Graham. You can see what processes are running by going into Task Manager. If it's a stand alone system, you may be able to free up a little more, and improve performance, by stopping the network services running. But that's another ball of wax. I realise that this is a silly question as it all depends on what is running, but could anyone tell me if that figure is about right. Apart from jaws and Norton anti virus I have nothing in my sys tray. There are several items in msconfig start up but I have not worked out what they all are yet. I am trying to get the best performance from my pC and I was just wondering if the amount of free ram I have is about right for the sort of system I have.
