Hi, that's exactly what it does, and the Email one does the same thing. Cheers Dave----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Hallsworth" <christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, October 26, 2008 8:14 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Problems with Friend's Laptop Thanks Dave, greatly appreciated. Didn't think the Internet link on the start menu had anything to do with default browsers and stuff, but a good suggestion I suppose. -- Chris Hallsworth e-mail: christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx msn: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx skype: chrishallsworth7266 klango: chrishallsworth----- Original Message ----- From: "Dave Taylor" <dave@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, October 26, 2008 8:08 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Problems with Friend's LaptopHi, to answer the second question, you need to go to internet options, either from Internet explorer where it is called options, or from the control pannel, and make sure that the default web browser is IE. TheInternet shortcut opens whatever the default browser is, so you could makethat open Firefox if you so wished. First, a DVD I created earlier on todayrefused to read despite it being a DVD-RW drive. It didn't even spin, and, when I tried to access what was the D drive from the run dialogue box, I received the following error:"d:\ is not accessible. The requested operation was not performed due to adevice i/o error" Something like that. What on earth does this mean, and how can I fix it please? Also, on her start menu, the internet link is broken (it asks what programme to run instead of opening Internet Explorer), yet her Internet Explorer icon on the desktop opens correctly. Again how can I fix this please? It would be useful to have these answers by next Saturday morning at the latest please as that's when I'll be looking at it more. Thanks in advance for any help regarding these. -- Chris Hallsworth e-mail: christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx msn: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx skype: chrishallsworth7266 klango: chrishallsworth ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
