Ask your friend to search for the word... Paste ... Then route your WE
cursor to it and move up to the top left and he will see a minimise,
maxamise, and a close icon. He can click the close icon and the clipboard
will go away. I take it your friend is using Office 97?

Subject: [access-uk] Problem with Clipboard in Word 2000

Hi all,

I am sure this problem has come up in the past but it has never affected me
so I cannot remember the solution. I have now been asked by a totally blind
friend living on his own if I can help him sort out this problem.
Unfortunately I am running Office XP and Windows XP whereas he is running
Office 2000 and Windows 98. He also uses Window-Eyes and is a relatively
inexperienced user.

He tells me that every now and then he suddenly gets a window on the screen
the title of which is "Clipboard". However, he tells me that he cannot close
it by using Escape or ALT+F4. Talking him through the situation on the phone
I got him to read the screen with the mouse pointer and although it spoke a
number of menu items I think these were from the Word window behind the box
in question. However, he said there was no trace of any button to press and
using Tab or the arrow keys in the box produces silence. So, I am not sure
if this is some kind of Clipboard viewer or a dialog asking him to choose
from a particular clipboard. He definitely does not have any third party
clipboard software. As he lives a long way away I cannot just pop round to
help him so if any of you have dealt with this problem before I would
greatly appreciate it if you could tell me what you did.

Many thanks and a happy New Year to all.
