Agree completely, so would I. It just seems hit or miss wherever you go. We
know a guy who's really helpful and who is reasonable, but I haven't asked him
to unlock a phone as I try to buy them that way. Yes you pay more to start
with, but it's easier to do it that way than get it unlocked later and
sometimes run into problems with sending it away.

Jackie, like you I don't know anything about unlocking software, but it is
true, that it all depends on the phone.
I paid 25 pounds to get my Nokia N70 unlocked, and that was me using the guy
I always use for all my computer/mobile phone repairs ETC.
He explained that some phones are easier than others to unlock, but I'd be
very careful about using unlocking software found on the net,
Billy

Mandy, I don't know anything about unlocking software as I've never done
it. But I know that £30 is rip off stuff to get a phone unlocked. The average
is about £10 unless you go through somewhere like Orange or Vodafone, who do
charge a lot more for the privilege.

I'm having to pay £30 to get an E65 unlocked to any network - this is a
lesson I've learned too late as bought it from EBay and didn't realise that
some phones cost more to unlock and have to be sent away.
Searching in Google I found some software that can be downloaded to
unlock the phone - have signed up to it and have email but done nothing with it
as yet as worried that if it doesn't work it could damage the phone and prevent
me unlocking it any advice please? If the risk is simply that it might not
work but won't do any harm it is probably worth having a go.
Mandy.
