Hi Maureen.

The Pen Friend is a labeling device, designed by the RNIB to help with the labeling of everyday household items. You use different shaped adhesive labels to label anything from cd, dvd and book collections to freezer items, jars, packets etc etc. Its very simple to use, simply touch the label you desire to make the recording on, hold down the record button and speak in to the microphone. Whenever you again touch the label with the business end of the pen, the recorded message will be played back to you. It also has some additional functions including a voice recorder and basic mp3 playback capability, though its main purpose is and always will be for the time being at any rate labeling.

All the best and I hope this is sufficient an explanation.
