Can disk management resize the primary win7 partition on the fly these days?
It wasn't possible on  previous versions and I don't want to mess anything
up by playing around.

I couldn't get it to work and after some search I don't think it is
possible. Have you looked at disk management in Windows 7? It may well do
what you need.
